Our Alcohol Addiction Rehab Program
New Dawn Medical offers personalized alcohol addiction rehab in Ontario to assist people in building a better tomorrow. Regardless of where you are on your journey, our experts will support you unconditionally.
Our programs often begin with medication-assisted treatment plans, when needed, to ease the intensity of detoxification and support long-term sobriety. These plans are complemented by a range of additional recovery programs tailored to individual needs.
You can count on our experienced physicians and dedicated staff to guide you through your recovery. They will create and continuously refine your alcohol treatment plan based on your progress. With multiple locations across Ontario, many of which are covered under OHIP, accessible care is always within reach.

Evidence-Based Alcohol Addiction Treatments
Evidence-based treatments are essential in combating alcoholism symptoms. This systematic approach provides positive, consistent outcomes for people experiencing addiction. Research shows evidence-based treatments help with associated issues (legal, psychiatric, or social problems) and decrease substance use.
These positive results are attributed to treatment retention and the duration of care received.
Naltrexone Treatment Program
Naltrexone works by binding to endorphin receptors, blocking the feelings and effects of alcohol. It is successful at removing the euphoric or sedative effects of alcohol consumption. Naltrexone decreases cravings and the amount of alcohol consumed. Once a person refrains from drinking, Naltrexone helps them remain sober.
Naltrexone is a component of an overall treatment plan, which may include behavioural health therapies or counselling. When beginning treatment, clients must not be physically dependent on alcohol. Experts wait until after detoxification to administer this drug to minimize side effects like nausea and vomiting.
Treatments last for three to four months, with physicians continually monitoring clients after cessation.
Acamprosate Treatment Program
Also known as Campral, Acamprosate restores the brain’s chemical balance while decreasing cravings. This medication assists clients in overcoming alcoholism, but it is not a cure. It only helps with abstinence. However, clients must refrain from drinking for several days before beginning treatment.

Personalized Treatment Plans
At New Dawn Medical, we base our Ontario alcohol treatment plans on our clients’ addiction severity, medical history, and recovery goals. We focus on tailoring our plans to what is best for the individual and what will generate the best chance for success.
Needs can change. Therefore, we adapt our plans to suit client needs and the progress made.
Safety is our primary objective, so we incorporate medical supervision to ensure our treatments remain effective. Since individuals can experience a range of withdrawal symptoms, we want to ensure they are not at risk for any physical, emotional, or mental harm. We want to keep them safe.
The Benefits of Seeking Professional Alcohol Abuse Treatment
Recovery from alcohol abuse is difficult to achieve on your own. Often, how long and how much you have been drinking can affect the severity of withdrawal symptoms.
Increased Chances of Long-Term Recovery
Receiving professional help increases your chances for a better long-term recovery. Structured programs teach you how to cope with stress, identify behavioural or environmental triggers, and offer counselling.
Medical intervention helps ease symptoms, making recovery more tolerable. It also addresses underlying and co-occurring issues to ensure a long-lasting recovery. Long-term sobriety is more successful with continued care and relapse prevention instead of quitting on your own.
Access to Medical and Psychological Support
Our medical professionals help you manage cravings and the severity of withdrawal symptoms. When symptoms are too severe, clients are more likely to return to drinking. When their discomfort is manageable, there is a better chance for long-term success.
A successful outcome also depends not just on medical intervention but on finding the cause of a person’s drinking. Only when the root issue is addressed can people experience complete healing. Counselling allows clients to deal with past trauma and behaviours. It can also uncover co-occurring mental health issues.
Peer support groups also assist in maintaining sobriety by creating a supportive, safe network of people who understand what you are going through. They will also hold the person accountable and help with triggers.
A Safe and Confidential Recovery Environment
Successful outcomes are built on trust. We provide a safe, confidential recovery environment where clients can explore their issues without fear of judgment or condemnation.
